Avram Grant sacked
Well after loosing UEFA Champions League final and failing to win the English Premier League, Chelsea as sacked Avram Grant. Avram Grant was the first Chelsea manager who took Chelsea in final of Europe’s biggest league UEFA Champions League and today Chelsea Football Club confirmed that Avram Grant has had his contract as manager terminated. They also praised the Israeli coach for taking Chelsea into the UEFA Champions League final and pushing Manchester United right up to the final day of the English Premier League however he failed to win any silverware which could be one of the big reasons he was dropped.
Owner Roman Abramovich could bring former Barcelona manager Frank Rijkaard or current Russia boss Guus Hiddink at Stamford Bridge to take charge of Chelsea football club. Grant who took charge of team affairs after Portugese manager, Jose Mourinho’s departure guided the London side to the runners-up position in the Barclays Premier League and the Champions League. He started his carrier with losing against Manchester United but give a new power to Chelsea.
After the sacking some of former players expressed their thoughts and weren’t happy with this decision, Former Chelsea manager Tommy Docherty says the sacking of Avram Grant as “disgraceful. I think it’s a terrible decision to make,” Docherty said on BBC Radio Five Live. The man’s done an incredible job at Chelsea football club, following the great (Jose) Mourinho.”
