Ronaldo continued to shine as he scored two goals and won a penalty for his team which was eventually converted by Kaka, all within a matter of 9 minutes.

Ronaldo’s composure seemed to defy Marseille keeper Mandanda in the 58th minute who jumped, thinking Ronaldo would lo instead he chose to keep the ball low and found the net by passing the ball through the skied keeper. 3 minutes later Diawara tried to outpace Ronaldo and ended up bringing him down inside the penalty box. Updates from Barclays Premier League

August 29th, 2009

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has accused Captain Steven Gerrard with not performing at his best level. The mersyside has already faced two defeats out of the three they played. Gerrard and Rafael know very well that losing points early in the league will only hamper their chances of winning the title.

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear that his team has not made any sort of attempt to bring French striker Franck Ribery to London. He also added that Andiry Shevchenko is all set to leave the club with mutual interest. Shevchenko failed to produce his magic which made him one of the most feared strikers in Europe. Though it’s not definite where Andiry will be heading this season but there are speculations about him joining his old club AC Milan where he spent the last season on loan.

Paul Hart has successfully made four new signings for his club Portsmouth. The new signings include 32 year old Michael Brown, an English midfielder from Wigan Athletic, 22 year old German midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng from Spurs, 28 year old Ivorian striker Aruna Dindane from Lens on loan and another 22 year old striker, Jamie O’Hara from Spurs on loan. Though the exact figures of the deals have not been made public yet but Hart said that the new signings were at the minimal possible rates.

Turkey‘s captain, and Middlesbrough star, Tuncay has left the red army to join Stoke city for a reported sum of £5 million. The 27 year old forward, winger and midfielder followed his red army mate 25 year old German Robert Huth, who too was reportedly signed for £5 million by Stoke.

Will Adebayor Exit Emirates Stadium?

Will Adebayor Exit Emirates Stadium?

After the acquisition of Roque Santa Cruz and former Man-U’s forward striker Carlos Tevez, Mark Hughes, Manchester City’s manager seems to be on a roll and unstoppable as he seeks to revolutionize the club by signing on Arsenal’s ‘hit man’ Emmanuel Adebayor.

After his 30 goal spree in the 2007 – 2008 season, the Togolese international player became the most in-demand striker with clubs such as AC Milan and Barcelona offering bids as high as £30 million!! His failure this past season to perform an encore with such goals may see him exiting the Emirates Stadium.
Reports claim that Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger is more than willing to let the striker join the Manchester City club, proving that Arsenal might be more receptive to selling him now (before summer) than would have been in the 2008 – 2009 season.

Mark Hughes seems highly in demand for the £22 million-rated striker’s services as he sees a lot of potential in the 25-year old targetman. The Daily Mail speculates that the temperamental aspect of the former African player as well as his unruly behavior both on the pitch and in the dressing room might have resulted to his downfall and faded goodwill he once held in the fans.

All the same, his transfer to City would result in a great hope for him and the Man-City revolution.
Arsene Wenger would be able to use the price tag to acquire some of his new selection resulting in a
win-win situation if you may.

The deal is almost sealed!

Philippe Senderos to play for AC Milan

August 28th, 2008

AC Milan has signed Philippe Senderos as a part of a loan deal for one full season from Arsenal.

The transfer was approved by Arsenal, as Senderos was not getting chances to utilize his skills at the club owing to the presence of a large number of players, who could play at the center back position.

Senderos, who plays for Switzerland, has been playing with the London Club for quite sometime now. The defender had a wonderful stint with the Gunners for the past five years.

His former teammates wanted him to have a wonderful season with AC Milan. It is expected that the temporary move could become a permanent move for the Swiss player, if he performs well in the coming season at AC Milan.

23-year old has appeared in 115 games during his last five years of stay with the Gunners. He arrived at the club in 2003, before which he played for FC Servette.

Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger, said that the player is currently visiting AC Milan where he will be having a medical test.

According to Wenger, the player was being lent to AC Milan so that he could play and utilize his skills and not let it rot on the bench.

Meanwhile, Arsenal secured a place in UEFA Champions League by defeating FC Twente 4-0 at the Emirates Stadium. With goals from Samir Nasri, William Gallas, Theo Walcott and Nicklas Bendtner, Gunners crushed the hopes of former England Coach, Steve McClaren’s side. McClaren will now have to be contented with a place in UEFA Cup.

Cook: Ronaldo’s experience might work for Manchester City

August 27th, 2008

Among the various ups and downs of this transfer season, there is a latest development at the Barclay’s Premier League.

Having failed to sign over Ronaldinho from Barcelona, Manchester City officials are now ready to focus on Ronaldo, the Brazilian striker, who is currently playing for AC Milan.

The unfortunate Ronaldo, who had an injury wrought World Cup, has been on the free agent list since last summer when Milan had dropped him from their side.

Garry Cook, the executive chairman of Manchester City, said that they had been looking for an experienced campaigner to their side.

He thinks that Ronaldo, the Brazilian star, now at 31, is the perfect fit to the side and will be a great asset to the club. Ronaldo, on the other hand, is still healing from the knee tendon severed during last February.

Ronaldo is set to return this November, but Manchester City officials are looking into the matter and want to know how serious the problem is.

The club is also insisting that if the Brazilian star were to join them, after release ,then he would have to get rid of the excess fat, which he has put on. Either way, this is going to be more interesting as the player would be paid on his individual match basis and not for the entire season.

Meanwhile, after a comprehensive 3-0 victory over West Ham United, Manchester City will be looking to work on with their goal scoring form and create an impact in Premier League table.

Clouds over possible Kaka move, as transfer season reaches its climax

August 16th, 2008

According to sources, there is still a possibility for a transfer of top Brazilian footballer Kaka to the London based Club, Chelsea, from San Siro, where he plays for AC Milan.

The Samba star is quite adamant to make a move to the West London side despite reports to the contrary.

Kaka still believes that his move to Chelsea can still become a reality by the end of August, before the transfer window shuts down.

Luiz Felipe Scolari, Chelsea’s boss, was the one, who gave Kaka his first international debut for Brazil.

Reports suggest that Scolari has already made a huge bid in the region of $US 156 million for this talented Brazilian midfielder, who is currently associated with Milan.
According to reports, Kaka is now more interested and happy to talk about the terms should Milan accept Chelsea’s offer.

Diogo Kotscho, personal assistant of Kaka, said that he spoke with the Brazilian player yesterday and found him to be excited with this likely move.

Kotscho also said that he knew the football clubs were talking about the likely transfers. However, he confirmed the media that they still haven’t reached any sort of conclusion yet.

Kotscho added that Kaka will only talk regarding his transfer when the final deal gets signed. There is no possibility for the player to hold a news conference at present, but he has been eagerly waiting for the deal and then only he will start negotiating with Chelsea.

Although Milan has always tried to keep top players with their side, still this bid seems too much to let go off. With the transfer season reaching its climax, no one can predict what is in store for fans of both the clubs.
