Will Adebayor Exit Emirates Stadium?

Will Adebayor Exit Emirates Stadium?

After the acquisition of Roque Santa Cruz and former Man-U’s forward striker Carlos Tevez, Mark Hughes, Manchester City’s manager seems to be on a roll and unstoppable as he seeks to revolutionize the club by signing on Arsenal’s ‘hit man’ Emmanuel Adebayor.

After his 30 goal spree in the 2007 – 2008 season, the Togolese international player became the most in-demand striker with clubs such as AC Milan and Barcelona offering bids as high as £30 million!! His failure this past season to perform an encore with such goals may see him exiting the Emirates Stadium.
Reports claim that Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger is more than willing to let the striker join the Manchester City club, proving that Arsenal might be more receptive to selling him now (before summer) than would have been in the 2008 – 2009 season.

Mark Hughes seems highly in demand for the £22 million-rated striker’s services as he sees a lot of potential in the 25-year old targetman. The Daily Mail speculates that the temperamental aspect of the former African player as well as his unruly behavior both on the pitch and in the dressing room might have resulted to his downfall and faded goodwill he once held in the fans.

All the same, his transfer to City would result in a great hope for him and the Man-City revolution.
Arsene Wenger would be able to use the price tag to acquire some of his new selection resulting in a
win-win situation if you may.

The deal is almost sealed!

After serving Manchester United for 18 years, Ryan Giggs may call it quits after the current season gets over.

Contract of United’s winger is going to expire in May. He is yet to get a fresh deal from the Red Devils.

Welshman, who has a cabinet filled with medals, has never been a part of any other club barring the Red Devils.

Giggs said, ‘I am going to keep playing till the time I enjoy it. If I’m fit and my manager will need me, I will continue my journey.’

‘If any of these things stop, I will have to consider retiring.’

‘It may come at the end of this season or the next one. What I am waiting for is my current contract to expire in the month of May and then I will make the decision.’

‘At this moment, there hasn’t been any communication with the club on this issue.’

‘I’m as fit as I could have ever been. The only thing, which is different today, is the time I’m taking for recovering from games. Two days following the Southampton game, I am still feeling its effect on my body.’

‘Still, I don’t want to make a decision on my retirement now, as I have time and am looking to concentrate more on the job in hand. We have a tough campaign coming up starting with a game against Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday.’

Meanwhile, Sir Alex Ferguson still isn’t confirmed on the future of striker Carlos Tevez at the Theater of Dreams.

Ferguson said, ‘From my experience in the game, it is difficult to predict what can happen, till it actually does.’

January 4th, 2009

Manchester United’s Carlos Tevez has shown his disappointment after rumors were spread, which suggested that he rejected a new contract offered by the Red Devils.

Tevez said, ‘We haven’t yet started talks with the club as of yet. However, I am eager to stay here.’

‘Sir Alex Ferguson believes that I have a great future being at Old Trafford and even I feel the same.’

‘My contract is going to expire at the end of the summer. We’ve agreed for sitting down at the end of this season and discussing the new contract. Till date, I haven’t heard anything that will make me think otherwise.’

‘I don’t think there’s a reason for sitting down now. I have got great relations with Sir Alex and am wishing that it will continue for a long time.’

Meanwhile, Kia Joorabchian, who is currently heading the economy rights of Tevez, felt that there was no urgency for the deal.

Kia said, ‘Manchester United has indicated that they would love signing Carlos for a long term, but negotiations haven’t started as of yet.’

‘I don’t think that there’s an urgency, as the contract runs till the end of the season. Carlos has always shown his intent of playing at United and nothing has changed yet.’

New contracts for Park & Neville, Cloud over permanent deal for Tevez

January 3rd, 2009

Manchester United winger Park Ji-Sung and defender Gary Neville are all set for getting their contracts renewed. However, the future of Carlos Tevez at Old Trafford still hangs in the balance.

Red Devils Boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, confirmed that Neville and Park are in line for receiving new contracts from the club. However, there is still cloud over a permanent deal for Tevez.

Tevez is on a 2-year loan at the Theater of Dreams, which will be expiring at the end of this season.

There are rumors that the contract stipulates a sum, which United need to pay the adviser of Argentinean Forward for buying him outright. However, there hasn’t been any agreement yet.

There have even been speculations that Red Devils tried renegotiating fees given to Tevez, as he hasn’t been a regular in the first-team in this season.

Spanish Giants, Real Madrid, is currently amongst the ones, who are monitoring developments in this deal. Still, Tevez has shown his desire to remain at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, reports of talks between Kia Joorabchian, controversial agent of the 24-year old Argentinean, and David Gill, United’s chief executive, are there.

The Scot has confirmed that United are attempting for instigating negotiations with Kia. However till date, there is no news of success for the Devils.

Ferguson said, ‘I haven’t got any idea about Tevez’s deal.’

‘We want him to be in the club, as he’s an integral part. This is why we are trying to bring the deal forward. The rest depends upon what time has stored for us.’

Maradona: Tevez is worried about his future as a Red Devil

November 13th, 2008

Argentinean Legend, Diego Maradona, feels that Carlos Tevez is concerned about his future, not only at Manchester United but also for his country.

There are several rumors spread across Old Trafford, as Red Devil’s star forward continues to play for the club without security of new contract.

Right now, Argentinean forward is in his last year of loan deal from Media Sports Investments, which’s a 3rd-party company that owns his legal right. The worrying factor for Tevez is that there are doubts over whether the club is willing for forking out US$ 51 million required for securing his services permanently.

Recent acquisition of Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov has used up a huge portion of club’s transfer budget. At the same time, Berbatov’s presence has also created a strong competition to Tevez in the forward line.

Maradona, who is the current national coach of Argentina, is worried with the fact that limited first-team opportunities for Tevez can harm his chances of getting national call-ups in the future.

Maradona said, ‘I feel Tevez’s currently worried about not being in the first-choice team of United.’

‘He has a challenge ahead for winning a place amongst an extremely talented bunch of players, which include the likes of Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney.”

With the likes of Diego Milito, Lionel Messi, Ezequiel Lavezzi, German Denis and Sergio Aguero gunning for a place in the national side, lack of exposure might see Tevez plummeting down attacking hierarchy.

However, Maradona showed full faith in the ‘Apache’ and feels that he will make use of whatever opportunities he’s provided by the Red Devils. This spirit was even visible during the 4th round Carling Cup encounter, where he scored the only goal for United against QPR.

Ferdinand: Berbatov’s arrival has worked for Rooney

October 17th, 2008

Manchester United England defender, Rio Ferdinand, thanked new draftee of the club, Dimitar Berbatov, for his role in inspiring Wayne Rooney.

Rooney has scored five goals in last three appearances in England’s color, after going through a draught in the international arena for a year.

Ferdinand believes that arrival of Berbatov on the deadline-day of transfer period at the Old Trafford Club has helped in lifting the game of former Everton forward.

In an interview, Ferdinand said ‘Rooney has been confident and playing well in the past few games.’

‘To be honest, amongst the few reasons, which made me happy in regards to Berbatov signing, was that I had a feeling he is going to inspire other players of the club for stepping their game up to another level.’

‘It is not just forwards, but other players in the club too, who have felt the impact of his arrival. When new players arrive, this is what generally happens.’

‘Everyone are looking forward to impress the new player and show him, why they are a Red Devil.’

‘Initially, I felt Rooney and Berbatov are going to be great in pair. However, what I’ve noticed is that Rooney has become better individually and started playing in another zone after his arrival.’

Meanwhile, Carlos Tevez has distanced himself from media’s criticism of being out of form in the current season.

Speaking to PA Sports, Argentinean striker said ‘I am not facing difficulties playing in the Premier League.’

‘Neither the position I play nor do long periods staying goalless worry me, if my team is playing well. And currently, we are getting back to winning ways in every league that we are a part of.’

United: No delay in completing the transfer of Tevez

October 7th, 2008

English and European Champions, Manchester United have moved forward denying that there is any delay in their plans of signing Carlos Tevez.

Argentina striker, who is currently playing his second year at Old Trafford in a two-season loan deal, has expressed desires for committing himself permanently to the Red Devils.

Tevez’s advisor, Kia Joorabchian, has recently rejected any interest from his former club Manchester City, in regards to him moving back.

United’s Spokesman said ‘David Gill, CEO of the club, told South African newspapers in July that we are looking forward for concluding a deal with Tevez before the winter transfer season starts.’

‘This is still going to be our aim. There’s still a lot of time left with us, so talks of delays in the proceedings are nonsense.’

‘We had a talk with Tevez. Just like us, he is also totally relaxed about the whole situation.’

Even Sir Alex Ferguson is looking eager to see the deal get finalized, as he believes that Tevez is a part of Devils’ long term plans.

However without any conclusion visible, there have been constant rumors that the Argentinean is frustrated with this situation. According to the reports, he is wondering why the Old Trafford club is dragging its heels in the deal.

Meanwhile, Ferguson is very happy with his side’s current form. With a 2-0 away victory over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park, he feels that Manchester United is back and top position in the league is not far from their grasp.

Berbatov: It was my dream to be a Red Devil

September 3rd, 2008

Dimitar Berbatov was overjoyed after his transfer to Manchester United was successfully completed.

It was a US$ 60 million deal that saw the Bulgarian International finally moved to the Theater of Dreams. Red Devils have also given the services of Frazier Campbell, who will be playing on a season-long loan, to Tottenham Hotspurs along with the financial compensation.

Berbatov transfer saga was one of the most talked about issues throughout the transfer season, as former Spurs forward was desperate for leaving his current club and play for the current European and English Champions.

27-year-old Bulgarian Star was relieved to finally receive the signal for playing at Old Trafford, where he is hoping for an excellent career.

While speaking to reports, Berbatov said ‘It was a dream for me to join Manchester United. Now with the dream taking the shape of reality, I am looking forward for being more than a helping hand in the club’s future successes’.

Manchester United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, was also thrilled that he finally got his man.

‘I felt that the transfer might not take place, as the negotiations between the two clubs were very slow. However, now that it is all set and done, I am happy that I got what I wanted’, said Ferguson.

On being asked in regards to the presence of three quality attackers in the same team, he replied ‘I am sure that Dimi will fit in well with Rooney and Tevez. His ability and style is going to offer another dimension to the club, which will be visible in the coming games.’

Tevez is likely to continue playing for Red Devils

July 31st, 2008

Carlos Tevez is all set to continue with Europe’s most premier club Manchester United. The Argentina striker’s representative confirmed that Tevez has his more future at Old Trafford than any other club.

Tevez would be free to settle with other clubs if Manchester United doesn’t sign a permanent contract by January, since the Argentine striker is on a two-year loan deal with the Old Trafford Club.

The relation between Manchester United and Carlos Tevez has been fantastic so far. He feels lucky to be associated with the Red Devils. The club equally is impressed with him, as his performance has been excellent in the previous season.

Iranian businessman, Kia Joorabchian, told the sources that the club is likely to agree for a deal for the West Ham striker. He also added that his MSI Company, who owned the player since last year, would help Tevez to accelerate the deal and make sure that it goes through. Everyone is looking forward to make sure that the future of Carlos Tevez is dealt in the correct way.

Joorabchian also told the media that the deal between Man U and Tevez should happen in sometime but he wasn’t sure about the schedule of its occurrence.

Manchester United’s chief executive David Gill have admitted that his club had spoken to Carlos Tevez and wants to keep the Argentine player as a part of their long term plans. The only matter that worries now is the time when the deal would be signed. He further went on to praise the playmaker admiring his unstoppable nature, when he gets on the pitch making him one of the best players in the world.

Ferguson adamant on Berbatov for Old Trafford

July 13th, 2008

Sir Alex Ferguson seems to be quite adamant for his new target, Bulgarian international and Tottenham Hotspur player, Dimitar Berbatov. If reports are to be believed, Manchester United has made an official bid worth $ 39.7 million to the Spurs for the player.

The Scotsman thinks that Berbatov will prove to be the perfect support to an already smashing attack comprising of Wayne Rooney, the England international and Carlos Tevez, Argentinean magician.

Spurs’ boss Juande Ramos will be surely unwilling to let his prized possession go away, but needs to have a check put on the club’s budget, and maybe this is the only way. Berbatov has also expressed his desire to win some more trophies before it is too late, and has been in talks with Chelsea and AC Milan prior to this.

And of course, the ex-CSKA Sofia and Bayer Leverkusen star along with four-time Bulgarian Player of the Year may be the perfect addition to the Old Trafford squad, which won the UEFA Champions League final in Moscow against Chelsea just weeks before.

Manchester United fans are scared that if the club is willing to buy Berbatov, then Christaino Ronaldo may be likely to go to Real Madrid.

The Ronaldo debate has got many influential personalities to put forward their views on the trend of ‘modern slavery’ in football, including FIFA president Step Blatter and Brazilian great Pele, who said that a player is a slave, if he does not get a salary or has no contract. Brazilian star also added that Ronaldo should see out the rest of his contract with United.

Now whether or not Ronaldo leaves for Bernabeu, Berbatov seems all set to come to Old Trafford for making an impact in the ‘Theatre of Dreams’.
