Inter start with a draw

August 24th, 2009

This summer’s signing, Samuel Eto scored on his debut for Inter Milan. Despite their undaunted reputation that precedes them having been the Italian champions for the fourth consecutive year, they were held to a draw by the newly promoted Bari side. The match ended with the final scores standing at 1-1.

It wasn’t as slow for Juventus, who look stronger this season with their new signings. Juventus won their first match with a 1 goal lead which was enough to give them the much needed points at the end of game play. Italian world cup winning captain Fabio Cannavaro returned to his old club after having left in 2006 for Real Madrid. Fans were still seemingly upset about his departure though. However, the Juventus side looks better this year with the arrival of Brazilian playmaker Diego.

For AC Milan, it was like starting a life after Kaka. Their season start didn’t look bad as they started with a win against Siena. The final score was 2-1, with both Milan goals coming from another Brazilian, Alexandre Pato. It was important for Inter boss Jose Mourinho to get a win against Bari as next weekend they play their city rivals, AC Milan. Mourinho believes his team is lacking a genius in the midfield. He has said that his players are doing the best they can but the lack of a playmaker rids the team of creativity. Just the start of season and everyone’s awaiting the weekend game to see who emerges the early winner.

Calderon: We cannot pay $157m for Ronaldo

June 24th, 2008

After a month of speculation over the future of Portuguese winger with the reigning Premier League & Champions League winners, Manchester United, it was confirmed by the President of Real Madrid, Ramon Calderon, that there is no chance of a record payment for the player to play in the Spanish Capital.

In 2001, Zinedine Zidane was bought to the Bernabeu for a record breaking deal that was worth a walloping 100m euros ($157m). Initially, there were rumors that Madrid will be paying a similar amount, if not more to get one of the best playmakers playing on the current football map.

President Calderon confirmed that although they want the winger to play for them, still there is no chance of the club to pay such a hefty amount for him. This amount was supposed to change United’s opinion of not putting the Portugal Star on their transfer list. He said that it is not only for Ronaldo, but the club is not eager to spend such a huge sum for anyone.

Recently, it was reported that players like Robinho and Schneider will be put up for transfer for getting the Red Devil’s star into the Bernabeu Stadium. However, officials of the club along with the Coach and President denied such rumors. They felt that both these stars are necessary for them to defend their crown in the coming season.

With things warming up in EURO 2008 for Spanish fans for their team has made the last four, they will also be hoping to see the magic of Ronaldo bracing the Spanish Premiere League in the coming season.

Spanish giants Real Madrid are desperate to signup the Portuguese star but manchester United have promised to suspend him and leave in in the reserves, and indicated that he is not for sale at any price. Real madrid are said to be willing to handout up to £ 90m for the portuguese and man utd player, real are ready to break the world record £ 48m the actual rate madrid paid by Zinedine in 2001.

The real madrid boss Bernd Schuster argues money is not a problem and he will buy Ronaldo from man u at any price.

Christiano Ronaldo: Bernabeu going to be his next stop ?

June 22nd, 2008

After a long debate over the future of Manchester United winger Christiano Ronaldo, it was revealed by him that he made a decision to move from the ‘Stadium of Dreams’ even before the final of Champions League to the Bernabeu. However, he did not reveal it so that the preparation of his side for the big game was not hampered.

According to a report in The Sun, it was confirmed that the Portuguese Star made his decision for realizing the dream of Dolores, his mother, who wanted her son to play in the Los Merengues, before the Red Devils defeated Chelsea for the crown.

Most experts feel that this will be a huge loss to the Red Devils, if and when he decides to move to Real Madrid. However, after yesterday’s comments on their refusal for putting him up for sale, this statement of Ronaldo could throw disappointment for his Scottish Coach Sir Alex Ferguson and his men. Sources even told that that the Scot and the Portuguese winger were going to have a meeting (one-on-one confrontation) in a short time for discussing his future with the club.

During an interview after Portuguese loss to the Germans, Ronaldo said that it was his national coach Scolari, who advised him to move to Madrid when he was playing an international friendly for his country. However, he cleared that although he will release a statement in a couple of days time in Old Trafford (where he will be having a surgery on his foot) about his personal viewpoint, his future is in the hand of others rather then his own.

Ronaldo has decided to join Real Madrid

Ronaldo has decided to join Real Madrid

Well if we believes the news papers then it wouldn’t a good news for Manchester United football club and England as sourced confirmed that Ronaldo has decided to join the Real Madrid football club but he will not announce it right now but he my say it after Euro 2008. Ronaldo has decided to join Real Madrid after Euro 2008, his godfather. Fernao Sousa was the man who coached the young Ronaldo to join Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United, and now he is agitating for a move to Madrid.

Marca – the newspaper seen as the mouthpiece of Real Madrid – quotes him as saying that Ronaldo has all his thoughts to leave Manchester. “Cristiano should use this opportunity to go to Real Madrid,” Sousa apparently told Marca. “I think he has decided, he will move to Real Madrid, but he will not say that until the European championship is over.” Cristiano Ronaldo’s main goal is to win everything that is what he wants the most, especially the Champions League and then going as far as possible with Portugal during Euro 2008.”

I think it is very serious for Manchester United and Sir Alex Ferguson and now he has to think about this otherwise he would lose a great player. I am sure Manchester United Football club and Sir Alex Ferguson will think about it and try to keep Ronaldo in the team because he is a key player for Manchester United.
