Gary Neville: A Painful Career?

Date December 8, 2007

It’s actually quite unfortunate for Gary Neville to have recently suffered from an injury. Ever since he broke his ankle at the last match he played against Bolton, he was yet to be seen back onto his feet and playing once more in the soccer field.

That’s actually a long injury stint already since the event happened last March of this recent season. And it’s not only his ankle which is hurting his football career at the moment. News has been circulating that Manchester boss Alex Ferguson is already getting into plans of temporarily scrapping him off the squad especially in the bout against team Roma.

That would surely be a crash for Ferguson since that game would happen within the Champions League. Ferguson made statements to clarify this issue. He said that he himself is saddened by the fact that Neville had to lay off at such a time, but when his doctor had a recent check-up on the injury a negative feedback was still given.

This might also be because Neville had been recently prone to suffer from many injuries so further observation would still be necessary before the star could again be seen back on field. However, Ferguson continues to reiterate that all these things are only temporary and of course, very necessary for Neville’s own safety.

He gives positive feedback that the injuries or the situation is getting too serious. This, he says, would not have any profound effect on Neville’s football career. So fans can still expect the guy to be back at some time the following season.
