Giggs: I can sense the Cup Catalyst in our game
September 25, 2008
After a poor start to the premiership season, Manchester United seems to be getting back on track.
Ryan Giggs, Devils midfielder, said that though the club had an awful start, good form is visible in their play.
After two consecutive draws in Champions League & Premier Leagues matches against Villarreal and Chelsea respectively, the Old Trafford club scored a 3-1 victory over 10-men Middlesbrough on their home turf in the 3rd round of Carling Cup.
Although United currently are positioned fifteenth in the Premier League season with 5 points from 4 games, Giggs said ‘Cup catalyst is now visible in our game and we are in a position to show the same vigor that was the essence of a victorious outing during the previous season.’
‘We have the potential to win 10-15 games on a trot, whether home or away. Yes, the caliber of our opponents cannot be overlooked. Still when we are playing at our best, nothing can stop us.’
Ronaldo also made a much-awaited return to the Starting XI of Manchester United in the Cup tie and scored with a header much to the delight for the home fans.
With Bolton Wanderers also having a poor time in the Premier League, things could not have gone worse as they will be facing a revitalized Red Devils at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Sir Alex Ferguson will be hoping that United will be able to finish the coming games better, after starting impressively in the last two games in the Premier League against Liverpool & Chelsea.
