Liverpool Pulls Victory Out of Bolton
December 4, 2007
The big wait is over for the Liverpool team as they finally reached the coveted third spot after winning over Bolton in the game held at Anfield. It was a crucial game which finally led Liverpool into its very recent victory in the Premier League.
Goals for the game’s first half were created by Steven Gerrard. Gerrard also saw an opportunity to make a pass to Fernando Torres when Nicolas Anelka from Bolton missed to make an open goal. Fernando Torres was able to chip Bolton’s keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.
It was indeed a disappointment for Anelka’s part as he was not able to foresee the goal trailings of Bolton. Although Anelka had a chance to aim for an open goal when Jamie Carragher collided with Pepe Reina, his team’s chances to beat Liverpool would still not be enough. Since Torres made a goal just a minute before the start of half-time, points in favor Bolton have thus become impossible.
Maybe Rafael Benitex really had contributed a lot as well in the Liverpool team’s success. He had reportedly partnered with Crouch and Torres for the first time in making attacks during the said League. Although Crouch and Torres has already played side by side during the Carling Cup and the Champions League, this recent match had evidently shown that their partnership is definitely on the road to progress.
Fans showed a great deal of opposition when Torres has been removed from the team for the time being.
Despite certain odds experienced by the Liverpool, their manager Rafael Benitez keeps positive about every development and turn around of events during the game. He believes that his team had a great deal of confidence which is rather evident in the numerous chances they were able to create to score points for themselves. He also went on to say that the team’s being diligently keeping its good momentum and that the team is definitely in tip top shape way better than how they were during the previous season.
As for the Bolton team, its manager Gary Megson had been honest enough to admit the disappointment and dismay from the said game. He admits that it was indeed not a good day of game play for the Bolton team yet he remains positive about being on the right track again. He also admits that it is not only Nicolas Anelka who has made much misses and had failed to make opportunities out of turnovers. He says that other factors have also played against them. Moreover, he stated his disappointment over the first goal since they were not able to set out their best headers to control the situation. Gary Megson was very much aware of the fact that the team has been somehow giving some dead giveaways for the Liverpool team to take bait and thrive on. However, he takes it all and charges things to experience. He keeps positive that the team had rather gained lots of useful insights from the outcome of the match.
