Team Rome Comebacks and Hodgson Leaves
December 2, 2007
After his brief leave from the Rome Football team, the Roman talisman Francesco Totti is going to make his grand comeback into the team this Sunday. This news first came from ANSA.
Francesco Totti suffered from a foot injury he got about a couple and a half weeks ago. Throughout his leave from his team, the Montenegro forward Mairko Vucinic displayed his prowess on the field. Thus, the Roman team was still able to make it through the tough games even in the absence of ts considerable talisman, Francesco Totti.
Vucinic was able to contribute two victory scores in the Kiev game. Debates are now being held as to whom team coach Luciano Spalletti would include as forward once Totti makes his comeback as Spalletti was known to favor a lone striker for his team. His decision is much awaited.
Aside from Totti, the team Roma also welcomed back Cristian Panucci, the team’s right-back, as well as Taddei–the Brazilian-born midfielder. Unfortunately, Simone Perrotta wasn’t among the list of recent comeback players.
In addition, the Udinese was actually an unexpected sight for Italy in this season and if they win over Rome, they could expect a top spot in the Inter Milan. That is, if the ongoing champions happen to lose on Sunday in Fiorentina.
So anything can still happen in the games to follow. And losing is definitely not an option for either teams.
Aside from comebacks, some people have also quit and transferred into new teams for this season.
According to press reports Roy Hodgson, who was expecting to manage team England, has finally decided to quit his position as coach of Finland to give way to a new opportunity. He is now considering to become a consultant for Massimo Moratti who is Inter Milan’s president.
Other sources even went on to say that Hodgson was expected to be the next England manager. Reports even went on to say that he might become the next boss for Scotland or for Ireland.
But speculations have been somewhat halted when spokesman Pekka Hamalainen have been quoted to have his claims regarding the real deal with Hodgson. According to Hamalainen, Hodgson already agreed to join Inter.
Moreover, certain press reports have stated that in Inter, Hodgson’s primary job would be to look after its professional interests especially with close coordination with the G14. This G14 is the prestigiously elite group of the eighteen clubs in Europe considered to be among the richest.
Along Hodgson’s football history were as follows: Inter coach from 1995 until 1997, once again from 1998 until the year after, and he also got close enough into leading the Finland team into a most coveted spot within the Euro 2008 finals.
Apparently, Inter still holds on to the fact that reported contract signings are yet to be made. Judging by the way speculations have been mounting without any confirmation from Hodgson himself or from other parties directly involved, we just have to wait and see what the next big move would really be.
