Vidic: I am never short of inspiration at Old Trafford
August 14, 2008
Manchester United center back Nemanja Vidic has said that the scintillating presence of experienced players like Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs among the Red Devils is a source of constant inspiration for him as well as the whole squad.
All the three veterans started for United at Wembley for the Community Shield against Portsmouth, a match in which they won on penalties. Giggs scored one of the three penalties in the 3-1 win.
According to Vidic, the presence of the ‘old guard ‘ injects a feeling of motivation to play and give a cent percent dedication in the whole team, driving United’s ever obvious and increasing hunger for more silverware.
He said that all the three, Giggs, Scholes and Neville, have been a part of Manchester United for many years now, still they have a constant desire to win.
He stressed the fact that the seniors make the rest of the players at Old Trafford to push harder and harder for success both on and off the field.
Regarding the absence of fellow players Wayne Rooney, Christiano Ronaldo and Louis Saha, who are recovering from their injuries, Vidic said that the club can fare well even without these big names, thanks to the great squad that they have.
Meanwhile, Sir Alex Ferguson is still gunning for bringing a striker at Old Trafford before the transfer season closes.
With a possibility of Berbatov or Henry joining the squad, the coming season for the Devils seems only getting brighter.
