German Bundesliga ~ Watch Live Football Article

This is known as the highest level of Germany's Football leagues system. In July 28, 1962 the German Bundesliga was formed under Hermann Neuberger the DFB president.First season to start in 1963-64. At the time there was five leagues playing for West Germany's southwest, west, south, north , and Berlin. Forty-six clubs applied for admission to the league, only sixteen teams were elected based on their experience. The ones from the North include Eintracht Braunschweig, Werder Bremen, HamburgerSV and the ones from the west include Borussia Dort Mund, 1FC koln, MSV Duisburg, Preubeen Munster, and FC Schalke 04. The ones from the southwest are 1FC Kaiserslautern, and 1 FC Saarbrucken. Lastly, the south includes Eintracht Frankfurt, Karlsruher SC, 1 FC Nurnberg, TSV 1860 Munchen, VfB Stuttgart and from Berlin only Hertha BSC Berlin. The first game was played on August 24, 1963. The new league had large crowds that came out to watch the nations top teams. Then in the 1970's a scandal broke out which enertained the idea that players were being bribed to affect the games outcome. They did indeed have evidence of this going on.Because of this they lost a great amount of attendance at the games. Slowly the attendance rose after West Germany won the 1974 World Cup. This put some teams on solid financial ground, so that they could attract some foreign stars to the league in the 1977-78 season. Bayern Munchen became the first three-time champion in, 1971-92, 1972-73, 1973-74. During the 1980's German Bundesliga declined in attendance throughout the league. In the 77-78 season attendance was over 26,000, but it dropped to just over 17,000 per game. By the end of the decade the German Bundeslia was due some fundamental changes. In the 1995-96 season the league adopted a new scoring system, each team now got three points for a win, instead of the traditional two.On August 24th, 1963 the launching of Budesliga took place. Since then 49 clubs have participated in league ranks. In 2005, the league was once again in another scandal, involving a referee, who admitted to betting and fixing the matches in the German Cup. The referee was banned for life and got a 29 month prison sentence. Despite the scandal the German Bundesliga popularity rose to 5.15 million during the 2006-07 season. Only four of the thirty-six clubs in the top two levels of the league system are from the former East Germany. Erzgebirge Aue and Carl Zeiss Jena will play the 2007-08 games. The football champion is determined by play. Whether away or home each club will have to play other clubs at least once. The club with the most points at the end of the season becomes the champion. Arena holds the right to show the first and second division matches on pay-per-view until 2009. The season starts in early August and last until late May, with a winter break of six weeks. All games are played on Saturdays and Sundays. Seven on Saturdays and two on Sunday. Some of Germany's most powerful players were being lured away by other countries professional leagues. In spite of this Germany managed to win its first World Cup in 1954.
